T-Mobile looks to ADSL for mobile backhaul

I spent a lot of time in IBM looking into DSL for certain connections for our customers, the cost is much lower than leased lines and offers greater speeds, the only downside is when it goes wrong, it takes at least 24 hours for it to be fixed. You can forget 4 hour fix times with DSL. So I guess if you desing your backhaul network well enough then you’ll be able to take advatange of this lower cost solution. ADSL 2+ is starting to creep in too, so the bandwidth is there to be used, I just hope there’s enough in the core aswell. [via]
