Google: Dark Fiber Story Not So Dark

“We have one peering point in San Francisco and some journalists say we’re trying to take over the world,” Sacca says. “That’s the thing that a lot of journalists don’t get,” he says, “is that one peering point does not a telecommunications network make.”

Google’s Chris Sacca comes clean on what Google is doing with that dark fibre. He has a point IBM has some dark fibre but we’re not a telco. In Fact Google’s strategy sound a lot like our own consolidated access solution for data Centres. [via]
Om on the other hand thinks slightly more underhand tactics are in play.
